As his name indicates, Dick d’Ano Nobo is the son of composer Ano Nobo.A string-instrument musician, Dick regularly participates in studio recordings and accompanies artists on stage within the Cabo Verdean community in the United States, where he has lived since 1995.

In the United States, he was a member of the groups Netinhos de Vovó and Kola Band. Before emigrating, he played with and served as musical director of Djassi, a group associated with the Abel Djassi Pioneers Organization (OPAD), and later became a member of Finaçon.

Compositions written by him have been recorded by various artists such as Chandinho Dedé, Pulonga, Djuta Barros, and Bino Branco, among others.
