Tchuni Preta started singing in the early 2000s in the recording of the second álbum of Codé di Dona. It was a surprise because, because he only learned he was supposed to sing when he arrived at the studio, having been brought there by Zito, the son of Codé di Dona.
His first CD was Midjo Terra (2006), featuring several songs by Calu di Guida, who was the producer.
Years later, with Zito playing accordion, Tchuni Preta formed the group Herderos Codé di Dona, which also included Kim, Zito’s brother. Following Zito’s death in 2024, the project came to an end.
Tchuni Preta has recorded several funanás singles as a solo artist, now produced by Kim Alves.
