Kolá Band

Formed in Brockton by high school colleagues in 1995, initially the group was called Soca Band and was composed by Dino (guitar), Kay (vocals), and Roberto. Later, in 1997 with Nelson (bass), Jimmy (drums), Nácio Prigozu (percussion), Zeca (vocals and keyboard), and Samuel (sax) joining, the name changed to Kola Band.

The siblings Jimmy and Nelson leave being replaced by Feel Bass and Tchico Évora. Zé Galvão (bass and vocals) and Dick d’Ano Nobo (guitar and musical production) also join the group. In the early 2000s while recording the album Tchoru d’amor, Kola Band also counts with Ney Miranda (keyboard) and Jackie da Graça (vocals) Source: Cabo Verde & a Música – Dicionário de Personagens.
